It appears the effort to extend a tax increment financing district in Springfield may have to wait until the fall.
The city needs a signoff from Capital Township before state lawmakers will approve extending the Enos Park TIF. But as of Sunday night, that letter still had not arrived, making it unlikely the extension can happen before the legislature’s fall veto session.
Township officials have said they want more transparency from the city before agreeing to the extension.
