Nehawu defends Cosatu president Zingiswa Losi amid backlash over Ace Magashule comments

Pretoria - The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) has strongly defended the election of Zingiswa Losi as president of Cosatu following social media accusations her appointment was solely because she is a woman.
The union’s reaction came after a video was circulated on social media in which Losi made comments about fraud and corruption charges against the ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule.
In the video, she answered a question from a journalist and said no one was above the law and anyone found to have transgressed laws of the country had to be held accountable regardless of the positions they occupied.

Journalist and author Jacques Pauw has backtracked on his original version of events relating to his arrest at the V&A Waterfront.
Pauw issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon apologising for false information contained in a Daily Maverick column about his arrest which was published last week.
The investigative journalist was arrested at the V&A Waterfront on Saturday 6 February and detained overnight for charges of theft, supposedly due to an outstanding restaurant bill.

Former acting Eskom CEO Matshela Koko has apologised to ANC leader Gwede Mantashe s daughter Nombasa Mawela, a year and ten months after alleging at a disciplinary hearing that she was a beneficiary of corruption.
In November 2017 the then-suspended Eskom executive alleged that Mawela, and others, had been involved in corruption. Koko resigned from Eskom in February 2018.
Mawela lodged a R500 000 defamation lawsuit against Koko in 2018 over the claims he made, according to TimesLive.
On Sunday on Twitter Koko retracted the corruption allegation in a series of tweets, saying he apologised to Mawela for any harm to her reputation suffered as a result of these allegations .
