police department. our eoc is currently operating on generator power. our air conditions in the police department has gone down. we have slight damage to our police department. we re barely holding it together but i can tell you that north miami beach is prepared to serve our residents and make sure they can kem home to a safe environment. reporter: we know you are holding it together, sir and appreciate the work you re doing. we know you can t get out right now. the first responders can t get out, because the winds are just blowing too strong right now. how many calls have you been receiving? how are people faring out there on miami beach? reporter: people are faring well. i actually believe people listened to the evacuation orders. the north miami police department and miami-dade county did an excellent job notifying residents of this storm. even though we re not hit with a direct category 3 or 4, it sure feels like it out there. we have a military vehicle, mrap, we send out ever
across the city of houston. 2,500 of those are here in the downtown area. john? rosa flores, appreciate the update. stay safe. we ll be in touch. joining us on the phone the league city texas police officer matt mogialino in the thick of rescues in dickinson. where are you now what you re seeing and what activities you re up to? currently, john, in lake city and dickinson area at the neighborhood that we share with the city next to us, and we re coordinating efforts with some shallow water boats, and taking a priority list of folks who are either elderly or without power, that are high risk, and we re getting to them, getting them in our mrap, protected vehicle, what mrap is, and relocating them to a fire station, a
turkey, i can t help but noticed the armored vehicles of various types, one even looped like an mrap, one you could see in iraq that could resist ieds, whole sorts of different equipment they re bringing in. right. of course, they don t know what they re dealing with. so a police tactical units, and in some countries even the military will respond to back up the police, so you have those heavy police units that have to come in. those guys could be in there. we ve seen many times with, you know, lots of ammo, hand grenad grenades, suicidevests, and
