Digital health companies raised $6.7B, breaking a record for Q1
Digital health startups raised a record-breaking $6.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021. Large funding rounds propelled them past previous months.

The seemingly-constant stream of funding announcements in March drove digital health funding to a new record.
Startups raised $6.7 billion across 147 deals in the first quarter, according to a new report by Rock Health. And they’ve been raising rounds at a much faster pace than previous years.
Much of the activity was driven by large, so-called “mega-deals” of $100 million and up. This helped prop up the average deal size from $31.7 million last year to $45.9 million so far in 2021.

Billing software startup Inbox Health raised $15 million in series A funding. The startup builds systems to make it easier to reach patients and answer questions about their bill.
The New Haven, Conn.-based startup partners with third-party billing companies. Since it was founded in 2014, it now counts 2,400 practices among its users.
With the funding round, led by early-stage investor Commerce Ventures, Inbox Health plans to build out its platform to reach more billing companies and practices across the U.S.
