FARGO Fargo Shanley ended West Fargo’s season almost exactly 10 months ago. The Deacons pulled off a 67-65 comeback win over the Packers in an East Region boys basketball state play-in game this past March, costing the Packers a Class A state tournament bid.
The Packers used the narrow loss as fuel when the teams met Thursday at Shanley. That score was written on the board right before West Fargo walked onto the court.
VALLY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fargo Shanley used a 15-0 run in the first half to take a 12 point lead and held that lead the rest of the game in a 68-52 win over Valley City in boys basketball Tuesday night at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.
Valley City took its only lead at 5-4 on a bucket inside by Calahan Burchill then extended the lead to 7-4 on a basket underneath by Drew Zaun with 15:33 to go in the first half. That would be the last lead the Hi-Liners would have. The Deacons would hold the Hi-Liners scoreless for the next 6:40 and go on a 15-0 run to open up a 19-7 lead. The two teams would be dead even the rest of the half 22-22 for a 41-29 lead at the half.
