H.E Akufo-Addo, Veep Bawumia Meet Legal Team Over Elections Petition Victory

  The President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have met with the President s legal team in the 2020 Presidential Elections Petition at the Supreme Court. The President’s legal Team were led by Akoto Ampaw and Frank Davies. The Supreme Court on Thursday, 4th March, 2021 unanimously dismissed the Petition brought before it at the instance of the Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. John Mahama as having no merit. Speaking for and on behalf of the legal Team, Mr Frank Davies who doubles as the Chairman of the NPP s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee thanked the President for the confidence reposed in the team adding that “Mr. President, by virtue of your unwavering support, the team has been able to successfully execute the task you assigned to us. John Boadu Speaks On Akufo-Addo's Second List Of Appointments | Politics

President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 announced his first batch of appointments for his second term. The 13 new appointees at the Presidency included new faces like Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman and Fawaz Aliu who are going to act as deputies to Madam Frema Opare; who maintained her position as the Chief of Staff.  Subsequently, he released his first list of ministers which was submitted to Parliament for approval. The Ministers; 46 in all are currently being vetted by Parliament’s Appointments Committee The President is however yet to announce Deputy Ministers, MMDCEs and so on. Speaking to this on Peace FM s The platform programme, with host Nana Yaw Kesseh, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu said until the Ministers are approved, the President will not be able to announce deputy Ministers.

Akufo-Addo releases list of 13 new appointees in Presidency

+ The names of 13 new key appointees at the Presidency in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s second term have been released. All the appointees are to undertake their duties in acting capacities, subject to consultation with the yet-to-be constituted Council of State. The list includes new entrant Dr Isaac Owusu Mensah as Director of Research who is replacing Victor Newman who recently passed on. Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman Other new entrants are Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman and Fawaz Aliu as the two new Deputy Chiefs Of Staff to replace Francis Asenso Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor who are now Members of Parliament. Adumua-Bossman worked as the Director of the Impact Assessment Unit in the Office of the President from 2018 to 2020 and was also the Director for Planning and Implementation with the National Security unit from 2017 to 2018.
