Emily Shane Foundation Hosts Silent Auction Patch 4/29/2021 © Ellen Shane Ellen Shane and her daughter Emily, who was killed on PCH in 2010. 57 enticing, eclectic items are on offer as part of a silent, online auction until Friday at 11:59 p.m. to benefit the Emily Shane Foundation, the Malibu-based organization honoring its namesake, a 13-year-old girl who was fatally struck while crossing Pacific Coast Highway in 2010. The proceeds from the “Active in April” fundraiser will go towards the foundation’s Successful Education Achievement (SEA) program, which partners struggling, low-income middle students who need extra motivation with university-level mentors who meet with them one-on-one a few times a week to coach them back to success.
