In a time where COVID has kept Broadway dark for months (and staying that way as 2020 came to a close), “Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical” arrived Friday and has raised over $1 million for charity.
The crowdsourced Ratatousical is a collaboration of original songs, lyrics and ideas from fans - including Emily Jacobsen, who wrote the original “Remy the Ratatouille” song for TikTok - as well as out-of-work theater performers to adapt the 2007 Pixar animated movie into a two-act show.
The money from the music is going to The Actors Fund, which provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan, according to its Twitter bio.

Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical officially began streaming on New Year’s Day to benefit The Actors Fund, with the show to continue to be available on-demand for viewers.
Following a viral video craze, a group of TikTok stars and Broadway creators brought the 2007 Disney/Pixar film to life as an on-stage musical. It’s also being referred to as Ratatousical. The virtual production features quite a cast, including actor Wayne Brady and American Idol alum Adam Lambert, among others.

On Friday (January 1) the musical premiered and is only available through Sunday (January 3). Fans can purchase tickets for as little as $5, however, the production asks that you donate what you can. The show s proceeds benefiting the Actors Fund Charity. Purchase your virtual ticket here.
The musical features an all-star cast of celebrities and Broadway superstars. Tituss Burgess portrays Remy while Adam Lambert plays Emile, Remy s brother. Wayne Brady portrays their father, Django. Andrew Barth Feldman portrays Alfredo Linguini, the chef who discovers Remy.
