More than $667 million in federal funding will support local affordable housing programs and projects across California, as announced Thursday by U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla, D-California. The city of Berkeley is receiving about $2.7 million of the funding. The American Rescue Plan Act, which Padilla helped pass, is providing the money, according to a press release from Padilla’s office.
