The Florida Department of Health in Flagler County received its first allotment of COVID-19 vaccine on Dec. 28 and is working with Flagler County Emergency Management to finalize distribution.
According to Heath Officer Robert Snyder and Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord, doses in this initial shipment have been earmarked specifically for health care providers in our community. It is anticipated that other priority groups, particularly those over the age of 65, can begin to receive vaccinations in the coming weeks, as additional doses are delivered.
“We are happy to share that paramedics, nurses and health department staff will receive their first doses of Moderna vaccine tomorrow,” said Snyder. “We will start vaccinating other priority groups as additional vaccines are provided.”

There are multiple ways eligible residents can sign up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
For example, there is a state-run pre-registration system for residents that will notify you when appointments are available.
STATE-RUN VACCINE OPPORTUNITIES
The Sunshine State is offering another way for residents to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine.
State officials on Friday announced the launch of an online pre-registration system for the COVID-19 vaccine, which can be found at myvaccine.fl.gov. They said those who sign-up will be proactively contacted when appointments are available at state-supported vaccination sites.
