Maryland County Voters Seek to End 'Sanctuary' Status

Maryland County Voters Seek to End ‘Sanctuary’ Status Maryland County Voters Seek to End ‘Sanctuary’ Status By US Incorporated Staff, February 16, 2021 On December 10th, 2020 Howard County, Maryland Executive Calvin Ball signed CB-63, inappropriately named The Liberty Act, which prevents County employees from asking about the immigration status of residents, prohibits cooperation among law enforcement agencies, and requires that certain information related to citizenship be kept confidential in Howard County. This draconian action resulted in HoCo becoming a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens. But some residents are having none of it. There is an ongoing petition initiative to send CB-63 to “referendum,” and let the citizens decide!
