the area yesterday turning much of the city into rubble. it also caused major damage to a hospital and flipped hundreds of cars over. the same storm system spawned twisters from kansas to minnesota. in minneapolis, at least one person was killed. when it hit, i heard the sirens. the siren went on right when it hit. i ran for the basement and my whole family stayed in the garage. we were trapped. i was so scared. everything was demolished. one of them across the street where a partial the roof came off and you could hear it. it sounded like a freight train when it was coming at us and it scared the heck out of us. at least 18 people were hurt in the minneapolis tornado which also damaged dozens of homes and toppled numerous trees. tornadoes also pummelled kansas where governor senator brownback has declared a state of emergency in 16 counties. this story continuing to develop this morning. we will be live on the ground in hard hit joplin, missouri in 10 minute
