Mar 2, 2021 Marie Rose Melita, age 88, made her trip to join angels on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. She was born on August 24, 1932, in Gloversville, to the late Zachary Zambri and Elizabeth Caputo Zambri. Marie married Salvatore “Tooty” Melita in 1954, with whom she enjoyed 67 years of marriage. She was an adoring mother and grandmother to a son and three grandsons, whom she affectionately called “her boys.” She was a lifelong member of the Johnstown and Gloversville community. Marie was first employed with the state of New York and then worked in the telephone industry with her last employment with Contel when she retired in 1993. She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and most recently Holy Trinity Parish. In Marie’s spare time, one thing she loved to do was go bowling. Ever a spitfire, all who knew her were keenly aware of her youthful energy and zest for life.
