Subscriber only A man jailed for possessing large quantities of cocaine, methamphetamines and marijuana hopes to stay away from drugs when released from prison so he can help care for his three children after their mother died last month in a crash. Kody John Cook, 34, was sentenced in the Supreme Court in Rockhampton on April 28 for possessing the drugs, along charges of producing a dangerous drug, possessing firearms and ammunition and items used in the commission of a drug crime. Cook pleaded guilty to the charges which arose from police searches in the Maryborough area in June and July 2020.

Reece Adam Vaughan, 30, was busted by police in possession of nine clip-seal bags containing various amounts of meth when they searched his home in Bargara, south of Bundaberg, on May 26, 2020. He pleaded guilty on March 31 in the Supreme Court in Rockhampton to one count of possessing dangerous drug in excess of two grams, one possess a dangerous drug and one possess drug utensils. Crown prosecutor Elise Sargent said some were in street level saleable quantities.
