NORRISTOWN â Like many organizations, Marthaâs Choice Marketplace needed to adapt to the mandates of the pandemic to keep going during the last several months.
Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Marthaâs Choice Marketplace, is still the largest, most visited food pantry in Montgomery County, serving more than 1000 families and 3,500 individuals each month, while distributing over a million pounds of food a year.
The mission, âto create genuine fellowship in an environment that is friendly, welcoming, and respectful,â hasnât changed, but the method of giving out food has, at least for the time being.

For clients of the unique pantry modeled on the welcoming vibe of your favorite supermarket, that meant giving up the ability to walk through the various departments and choosing their own produce, dairy, meat and canned goods, which made the pantry a âchoiceâ destination.
