Krista was an active member of the local community and an advocate of healthy living. Her life was tragically cut short in 2012 when she was struck by a car while cycling in Ottawa. The annual Krista Johnson Memorial Run for Change, named in her honour, raises funds to support the Elevate Youth Wellness Centre in downtown Pembroke.
