of the book, free range kids, once a big skeptic of recess coaches now she s in favor of them. good morning, lenore? hey, good morning, alisyn, happy to be here. okay, recess coach, really? we need to teach kids how to play? when i first heard this concept. i was so disgusted i went it my blog and wrote what are they doing. one 20 minutes all we re asking for the kids in the day and turning into that p.e.? i was outraged and starting hearing from parents who had kids at school where there were the recess coaches and they were so grateful because sometimes it s not the choice between kids running around freely and gayly making up their games or in nazi coming in and telling them what to do. it s at schools where recess was so violent and depressing and sometimes all of these kids crammed together with nothing to do because they actually didn t know any of the old street games that we knew. that it was a choice between
