we cheered. we were so happy. construction began on this. the brooklyn war memorial. it is dedicated to the more than 300,000 heroic men and women in brooklyn who fought for liberty since the world war. since 1985 the doors to the memorial have been locked locked to the public and more importantly locked to our nation s heros. every memorial day they decorate the memorial with american flags. we think about war with our friends who gave their lives for us. the memorial needs restoration a wheelchair ramp accessible bathrooms elevator new electrical plumbing. the renovations cost close to $70 million. inside is a treasure trove of wonderful rich history over 12,000 names. we would like to get it open
