Hermine now a Tropical Storm with winds of 70 miles an hour. When the storm made landfall in the panhandle this morning, it was a category one hurricane with winds of 80 miles an hour. Heavy rain and high storm surge and flooding along the florida gulf coast. Now Tropical Storm hermine powering across southern georgia where the governor has declared a state of emergency. Millions of residents all along the storms path up to the carolinas under watches and warnings. Preparing for the worst. Earlier, Florida Governor rick scott making clear hermine is dangerous. Its life threatening. We will see big storm surge. We will see a lot of rain. We will see flooding. We will see downed power lines. We will see a lot of risk if we dont do our job. Hurricane harvey came onshore as a category 4 storm. Any rain thats falling is going to begin to pile up missing close to columbus around the victoria area where the eyewall is continuing to spin. Everything off on the right side of this storm is under a tornado watch. The conditions are there. We have seen Severe Weather the last several hours. Its been along this line. Its training there, a lot of heavy rain. We have seen tornadoes spin up within this system. Thats a spot if usual in this area you want to pay attention. I wouldnt be surprised if another tornado spined up in the next few hours. This is your tornado threat tonight. Its just going to be staying here on the east side of this storm.
