Impetus Partners With State Street To Transform The Lives Of Young People From Disadvantaged Backgrounds In The UK Date 14/12/2020 Today youth charity, Impetus, announces its partnership with State Street Corporation to provide support to local charities working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the UK. Youth employment is in crisis, with a Covid generation set to spend long periods out of work. Figures predict that around 2-3.5 million 1 job losses will occur because of the pandemic, with young people being hit first and hardest. In particular, under-25’s are 2.5 times more likely 2 than over-25’s to have been working in shut-down sectors like hospitality, and the number of 16-24-year olds in employment

Kendal Fire Station gets five new recruits who passed training 'with flying colours'

Kendal Fire Station has gained five new full-time and apprentice firefighter recruits who have successfully graduated following an intensive training programme. The firefighters have completed their training and will now join the fire crews at their respective stations throughout Cumbria. An official passing out parade to mark the occasion was held at Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service’s headquarters at Penrith on Thursday, December 3. Unfortunately, family and friends of the firefighters were unable to be present due to social distancing restrictions, but the event was an important opportunity to celebrate their achievements. The firefighters were congratulated on passing their basic training course with flying colours and welcomed to Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service as newly trained firefighters.
