Fernandez s career next took him to Canada, where he worked in several kitchens before landing the role of head chef at the since-closed Nyood Restaurant and Lounge in Toronto.
In 2014, Fernandez moved to Miami to head the kitchen at Byblos in South Beach. There, he created a menu inspired by the Eastern Mediterranean and the Maghreb region of Northwest Africa. Fernandez also continued pursuing his culinary studies, earning the title of Certified Executive Chef from the American Culinary Federation and serving as assistant dean of the since-shuttered Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Miami.
Amid the pandemic, Fernandez opened Tur Kitchen, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in Coral Gables. The chef parted ways with the restaurant and, before his death, created several tasting meals for Chèvre, a cheese shop and restaurant that will open soon in Miami.

Guerrero named the drinks after the vaccines. The Fieyzer is similar to the phonetic spelling of the most widely recognized vaccine. Antigua means old in Spanish, so this is a play on the opposite of Modern. Also, Jota & Jota stands for J&J in Spanish. We wanted each drink to be unique so guests can pick their favorite.

Yesterday afternoon, by a vote of 38 to 2, the Florida Senate passed Senate Bill 148, which would allow the sale of alcoholic beverages to-go. A parallel proposal, House Bill 329, is making its way through the Florida House of Representatives. If signed by the governor, the legislation will take effect on July 1.
Though the senate bill s passage is good news for many establishments, the pending law does come with restrictions.
Beverage purchases must be accompanied by a food order, and containers are limited in size to 32 ounces and must be sealed so as not to allow on-premises consumption. In addition, the beverage must be placed in a bag along with a dated receipt for both food and drinks.
