In the search for a new mascot to spread holiday cheer in El Dorado, organizers decided that not one, but two mascots will be needed to "ignite the magic of Christmas" across the city.
A number of local residents gathered in the Rock Island neighborhood on Saturday for the March of Hope. The march, organized by non-profit organization Parents United Against Youth Violence along with local resident Nathan Rainey, Sr., focused on raising awareness of violence and its effects on families and the community.
Parents United: Code Red, a local nonprofit, and El Dorado resident Nathan Rainey Sr. are teaming up to host a pair community events to honor families who have lost loved ones to violence.
