Mayor sends out vaccine message to residents
The Lord Mayor of Leeds joined volunteers at a Leeds vaccine centre in a bid to encourage people from the city’s many diverse communities to get their jab.

Coun Eileen Taylor was on hand at the Woodhouse Medical Practice last Thursday doing her bit to boost what is the largest vaccination programme in the history of the NHS.
Although a huge city-wide effort has seen tens of thousands of people across Leeds receive their first dose of the vaccine, Public Health officials are keen to dispel any myths that might contribute to hesitancy among some residents to attend appointments.
FLAGS will be flown at half-mast on civic buildings in Leeds in honour of Captain Sir Tom Moore who died yesterday. The inspirational 100-year-old veteran raised almost £33m for NHS charities during the pandemic by walking laps of his garden. He was knighted by the Queen in July in a special ceremony at Windsor Castle. In recognition of his incredible efforts and in honour of his memory, flags on Leeds Civic Hall and Leeds Town Hall will fly at half-mast today. Councillor Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council, said: “Captain Sir Tom Moore’s extraordinary efforts became a shining light for us all during some of the darkest days of the pandemic.
