Live-action adaptation footage also on the way. Updated on 11 June 2021
Netflix has a
lot of video game adaptations in the works at the moment, and we ll be seeing the fruits of at least some of those ongoing labours later today as its Geeked Week of reveals concludes. It promises to be a busy one - debuting footage from the likes of The Witcher Season 2 and Cuphead - but first there s a look at the opening three minutes of the streaming service s CGI Resident Evil series ahead of its release in July.
Known as Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, this animated adaption takes place several years after the events of Resident Evil 4, with Leon S. Kennedy once again serving as the US president s bodyguard - which would probably seem like a walk in the park compared to his usual adventures if it wasn t for the threat of an imminent zombie outbreak.
Coming to Netflix on July 8
Known as the gold standard of survival horror games with over 110 million units shipped worldwide, Resident Evil is continuing its 25th-anniversary celebration with the upcoming premiere of the original CG anime series,
RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness, launching exclusively on Netflix on
July 8 this year.
Netflix today also gave another look at the upcoming series, revealing both the main trailer and key art. The main trailer teases some of the upcoming events Leon and Claire will be facing, including scenes of the battlefield, zombie attacks, and a Tyrant shrouded in mystery.
