A trial date has been set for a man accused of holding a teenager captive and torturing him for days, tying him to a bed and beating him with a shovel.
Police allege Michael James Sculac, then 48, brutally assaulted and held the 19-year-old against his will at an illegal bush camp in Eenie Creek in March 2019.
The alleged victim had injuries including scratches, bruising, black eyes and bruises to his thighs consistent with shoe-sole impressions, a court previously heard. The teenager was allegedly held captive in Eenie Creek bushland, about 1km from the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre. Picture: Nine News Sunshine Coast
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said emergency services were called to Sunbird Chase about 1pm. She said paramedics took the woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. She was walking around when they arrived and there were no injuries confirmed, she said. In a separate incident on Saturday night, a man was taken to Nambour Hospital after a single vehicle crash at Noosa.
