Starting at 7am today, part of the Fairfield Memorial Hospital's main parking lot, to include the entrance into the main lobby of the hospital will be closed until approximately Noon. Drop offs and picks up will be at the Surgical Pavilion. This closure is due to a crane that will be moving in the new AC equipment as part of the Phase II renovations. There will be periods of time starting at 10am when they will be moving heavy duty equipment overhead and no staff or visitors will be permitted in certain areas of the main part of the hospital due to safety concerns. During these times FMH Security Staff will help guide visitors and staff. The Fairfield City Council met last night with all members present. The council approved 3 TIF Redevelopment Agreements. They include Farmers Daughter for $50,000. The business will be undertaking a complete renovation to the first floor and exterior work as well. Country Roads Realty for $5,500. Fairfield Park District will hold a special meeting today at 1:00 p.m. at the Swimming Pool at Leo French Park, Fairfield, Illinois 62837. The purpose of the meeting will be to meet and discuss the potential splash pad. The Wayne County Retired Teachers Association will meet on Tuesday, August 2, at Bob Boyles Hall on the campus of Frontier Community College in Fairfield. Lunch will be served at 11:30, followed by the program and business meeting. Cost of the meal is $12.00. Sara McGehee will present a program about her alpacas, Apollo, Winston, and Simon. Edwards County 4-H officials say Edwards County Farm Bureau Manager Rebecca Perry will be honored as an inductee for the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame this year. Perry was an 11-year member of the Caledonia Clovers in Boone County, receiving many awards and recognitions, before relocating to Edwards County in her current role. The Annual Meeting of the Wayne-White Electric Cooperative will take place this Friday in the Wayne City High School Gymnasium. This will be the first indoor annual meeting since 2019, and the meeting is open to all "members" of the cooperative, who are asked to bring their membership registration card with them. Cards are attached to the annual meeting booklet each member received in the mail. Although the cooperative now provides billing and maintenance services for residents of the City of Fairfield, those residents are not technically members of the co-op and are not eligible to attend the meeting.
