The Education Cabinet secretary George Magoha’s admission that his ministry faces a shortage of one million face masks to be provided to children from poor backgrounds is worrying.
The masks are meant for children whose parents cannot afford the safety gear and government must, therefore, ensure that this is provided on time.
The government has been imploring parents to prepare learners for the resumption of physical learning and it should be the last one to look ill-prepared.
