Voted on a temporary plan, and were learning that proposal calls for paying city workers every 28 days instead of every two weeks. The mayor broke down why he believes it will work. If we could move the pay period from a 14day pay period to a 28day pay period, we would be able to keep not only the city open in april, but certainly in may and june. Then we run into the same problem, but 90 days for calm heads to come to the table for our elected officials, including myself, members of city council, to be the solution to this crisis. Reporter the White Collar Union says the quarterly tax collection due on may 1st would also help the city. But we did some digging and we found that more than 10 million in city expenses are also due to be paid in may. Among them the school board, city payrolls and a bond payment.
