With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there is no better time to fall in love with downtown Edmonds and all of the wonderful seasonal specials and delights offered by our retailers, merchants, and restauranteurs. And as of Monday, Feb. 1, restaurants are allowed to open to indoor dining at 25% capacity.

Nearly 40 downtown Edmonds businesses are participating in a “Love Local, Love, Edmonds” campaign through Feb. 14 courtesy of the Edmonds Downtown Alliance. Customers are invited to enjoy beautiful Valentine’s displays, food and drink specials, beauty packages and more courtesy of the Edmonds Downtown Alliance
Just look for the bright pink cupids on the sidewalk in front of each participating business. Visitors to downtown Edmonds will be able to walk the streets and wander into any business that they see Cupid’s arrow pointing to and ask about their Valentine’s feature. All specials are listed at edmondsdowntown.org/featureslisting/love-edmonds.
All other counties in the state remain in Phase 1, where restaurants are limited to takeout and outdoor seating. We will be able to bring back some employees and increase staff hours, says Jeff Barnett, owner of Salish Sea Brewpub in Edmonds, which is in Snohomish County.
When indoor dining was banned last year he turned his dining room into a merch shop.
Now that people are being allowed back inside, he ll be able to add five more tables, up to 30 customers at a time.
Barnett believes some of those customers will be coming from neighboring cities like Kingston in Kitsap County.
