Refinery rehabilitation : NNPC tasks contractor on project completion By Edith Ike-Eboh Port Harcourt, May 6th, 2021 The Nigerian National Petroleum corporation (NNPC) has tasked the Contractor rehabilitating the Port Harcourt Refineries Companies (PHRC) to ensure completion of the project at the estimated time frame. The Group Managing Director, Malam Mele Kyari disclosed this at the kick off meeting of the Rehabilitation of PHRC, in Port Harcourt, on Thursday. Naija247news reports that the meeting signified the take off of the rehabilitation project. The PHRC operates two refineries; the old refinery with a nameplate capacity of 60,000 barrels per stream day (bpsd) and new refinery with an installed capacity of 150,000 bpsd.

Naija247news reports that the rehabilitation of the PHRC started on May 6, with a stakeholders’ meeting to know the project’s alignment and scope at the refinery premises in Eleme, Rivers State.

NNPC supplies 1 44bn litres of PMS in January – Report

By Edith Ike-Eboh Abuja, April 13, 2021 The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it supplied 1.44 billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol in January 2021. The corporation disclosed this on its Monthly and Financial Operations Report (MFOR) released in Abuja on Tuesday. “To guarantee energy security, the corporation also supplied a total of 1.44billion litres of petrol translating to 46.30million liters/day, across the country in the period under review,’’ it said. In the Gas sector, the report revealed that a total of 223.55Billion Cubic Feet (BCF) of natural gas was produced in the month under review. It said this translated to an average daily production of 7,220.22 Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day (mmscfd).

Kaztec Engineering Limited is a subsidiary of Chrome Group, an indigenous engineering and fabrication company owned by Chief Emeka Offor. The Company’s Fabrication yard on Snake Island, which houses Badagry Creek Industrial Park Free Trade Zone, licensed in 2014 was grounded in March 2015 when Addax Petroleum had tax issues with the Federal Government. The grounding of the company also led to abrupt halt of the platform construction for oil production from Antan and Ofrima/Udele fields and unpaid salaries to workers, contractors, and vendors.

NNPC reiterates commitment to renewable energy project

By Edith Ike-Eboh Abuja, April 8, 2021 The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has reiterated commitment to its partnership with the Government of Kebbi on renewable energy projects. The NNPC Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, disclosed this in a statement by the corporation’s Spokesman, Dr Kennie Obateru, in Abuja on Thursday. Kyari spoke when he received the Governor of Kebbi, Sen. Atiku Bagudu, who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. He noted that the corporation remained committed with the partnership for the production of biofuels, adding that the project was viable and in tandem with the global transition to renewable energy.
