Jackson County adds seven new COVID-19 cases

The new cases were among 2,659 reported during the one-day period to the Minnesota Department of Health. The cumulative total of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases statewide rose to 537,828 (positive and antigen tests), with 512,029 beyond the 10-day isolation period. Thus far, 39,847 Minnesota health care workers have contracted the virus.

Nobles County reports 10 new cases during latest 24-hour reporting period. 11:19 am, Apr. 8, 2021 × REGIONAL Jackson County recorded another 17 positive COVID-19 results among its residents during the 24-hour period that ended at 4 p.m. Wednesday, while Nobles County recorded 10 new cases, Cottonwood and Murray counties recorded eight new cases each, Pipestone County had three new cases and Rock County added one new case of the virus. The new cases were among 2,535 during the one-day period, as reported by the Minnesota Department of Health today. The cumulative total of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases statewide rose to 535,182 (positive and antigen tests), with 510,959 beyond the 10-day isolation period. Thus far, 39,741 Minnesota health care workers have contracted the virus.

Pipestone County, meanwhile, added five new cases, Nobles County added two more cases and Rock County added one new case. Statewide, 2,004 new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed during the 24-hour period, pushing the cumulative total of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases to 532,658 (positive and antigen tests), with 509,834 beyond the 10-day isolation period. Thus far, 39,642 Minnesota health care workers have contracted the virus. Another 19 deaths were recorded for the day, including 14 from private residences and five residents of assisted living or long-term care facilities. Minnesota’s death toll from the virus now stands at 6,908, including 4,298 residents of long-term care facilities.

Statewide, 3,014 new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed during the period that ended at 4 p.m. Monday, pushing the cumulative total of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases to 530,662 (positive and antigen tests), with 508,094 beyond the 10-day isolation period. Thus far, 39,553 Minnesota health care workers have contracted the virus.

Jackson County continues to see rise in COVID-19 cases

Those results show a dozen new cases of the virus in Jackson County during the 24-hour period, five new cases in Cottonwood County, four in Nobles County, two in Rock County and one each in Murray and Pipestone counties. MDH also noted that due to a technical issue, fewer cases than normal were able to be processed, which means the numbers posted today may be lower, and cases posted on Tuesday may be higher.
