La North West Triman de As Pontes, el único triatlón de larga distancia que se disputa en Galicia, volvió a dejar mostrar en As Pontes la resistencia de la que son capaces los deportistas. En la prueba de la categoría ironman, los participantes hicieron frente a 3,8 kilómetros de natación en el lago de As Pontes, 180 en bicicleta para acabar con 42,2, kilómetros, una maratón, en la carrera a pie. En la categoría masculina el triunfo fue para Fernando Santander, que invirtió en el desarrollo de la prueba 9 horas, 1 minuto y 53 segundos; la segunda plaza fue para Marcos Pérez Dekker, con 9.25.30 y el tercero fue Jacobo Crego Fernández, con 9.27,01. Tras ellos se clasificaron Luis Vega Romero, 9.29.05 y Francisco Pérez, con 9.36.12.
