Polygon Gallery receives a 2021 AIA Award for Architecture

Patkau Architects received a 2021 AIA Architecture Award for the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver. The project is the rebirth of an independent photography and media institution that has served North Vancouver’s creative community for nearly 40 years.

The 2021 Architecture program celebrates the best contemporary architecture regardless of budget, size, style, or type. Patkau Architects is one of 10 recipients to receive an award, and the only project completed by a Canadian architectural practice.

The planned Pixel apartments, at 15424 Bel-Red Road in Redmond, will have their next design review on Thursday, in a virtual presentation. Jensen Design Architects is designing the seven-story, 179-unit project, which will replace an old commercial building on the corner of Northeast 24th Street. The trapezoidal shape site is about a 12-minute walk north to Overlake Village Station, where light rail service will begin in 2023.
