In Oregon, more than 1 in 3 public school students now get regular classroom instruction

The 18 largest districts in the Portland area enroll more than one-third of the state s public school students. The week after spring break, about 1 in 6 pupils in the region were regularly attending class in-person.The Oregonian

Last week, that number neared 230,000, according to the Oregon Department of Education a 19% jump.
Among the Portland area’s 18 largest districts, the number of students regularly visiting a classroom nearly doubled, from nearly 20,000 the week before spring break to just over 36,000 last week. There are nearly 220,000 students enrolled in those districts.

A month from now, many middle and high schoolers across the Portland area will return to in-person teaching, at least part time, for the first time in a year. And bars and restaurants across the Portland area can now open for indoor dining up to half their normal capacity.
Are we inching back to something resembling normalcy?
