Funding approved to finish the final leg of a long awaited levee improvement project for Hamilton City The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reporting that an additional $22 million is available to finish work on the former J Levee in Hamilton City. Posted: Jan 22, 2021 5:02 PM Posted By: Linda Watkins-Bennett HAMILTON CITY, CALIF. -  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reporting that an additional $22 million is available to the Hamilton City Flood Damage Reduction and Ecosystem Restoration Project for continued levee construction and habitat restoration. It will fully fund the remaining work on the decades-old Project. In December of 2020, the Corps completed a third phase of the levee construction along the Sacramento River.  5.5 miles of the 6.8-mile levee are now complete.  In addition to finishing the remaining 1.3 miles of levee, 485 acres of restoration is planned.
