Darwen cocktail bar wins green light for outside canopy

An image of how the new Cin Cin beer garden will look. A DARWEN cocktail bar has won the right to put a canopy on the back wall of its premises despite noise fears. Cin Cin in Church Bank Street had a backdated application for the addition approved by Blackburn with Darwen Planning Committee despite three objections. Its owner Dominic Holmes agreed to ensure that the door below the canopy on a back street opened inwards rather than outwards to minimise noise affecting neighbours including a funeral parlour. Conservative spokesman Cllr Paul Marrow expressed fears that the canopy might become a glorified smoking area leading to customers gathering and talking noisily outside.
