Tue, 25 May 2021, 17:34 17:34 PM | BY: EARTHQUAKEMONITOR 4.5 quake 26 May 12:14 am (GMT +7) A magnitude 4.5 earthquake near Banda Aceh, Kota Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia, was reported only 18 minutes ago by Indonesia s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Indonesia. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate depth of 127 km beneath the epicenter after midnight on Wednesday 26 May 2021 at 12:14 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Our monitoring service identified a second report from Thailand s Earthquake Observation Division (TMD) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.3. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.8.
