According to Asror Rustamov, a State Geological Committee official, the deposit is located in Kyzylkum.
Rustamov added that in 2020, Uzbekistan also registered a deposit with lead, gold and silver reserves in Surkhandarya, a 200-ton copper mine in Almalyk and a tungsten deposit on the border of Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions.
For information, last year Uzbekistan sold 100 tons of gold abroad. A total of 687 tons (non-monetary) gold has been exported in the last 10 years.

The Tajik Railways SUE stressed that the transition to electric locomotives is in the interests of both parties: carrier costs will be reduced, emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere from the combustion of diesel fuel will be eliminated, the frequency of train traffic will increase, inflating incomes of the parties.
The amount of cross-border remittances to Uzbekistan reached $892 million in January-February 2021 – $107 million (14 percent) more compared to the same period last year, the Central Bank reports.
