15 cats found shot to death in western Wisconsin

Dunn County is about an hour east of the Twin Cities. Someone then shot and killed at least 15 of the abandoned cats and kittens, while the remainder were rescued, the society said in a statement. This is such an act of cruelty that we need to do everything we can to find the person/people responsible, the statement read.

Author: Credit: Dunn County Humane Society Nearly three-dozen cats and kittens were abandoned on the side of a western Wisconsin road, with at least 15 of them shot to death.  The Dunn County Humane Society said the cats were killed in rural Dunn County, specifically near the Dunnville bottoms in the southwest corner of Spring Brook – approximately an hour east of the Twin Cities.  Eighteen cats and kittens were rescued at the scene.  It appears that someone abandoned these cats on the side of the road, next to a pile of cat food. Someone then shot and killed at least 15 of those abandoned cats and kittens, the humane society said. 

Reward offered in Wisconsin cat shootings

Updated: 1:32 PM CDT April 29, 2021 MENOMONIE, Wis. A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for shooting and killing 15 cats and kittens near Menomonie, Wisconsin. The Dunn County Humane Society says someone abandoned more than 30 cats in Spring Brook Township, leaving them by the side of a rural road with a big pile of cat food. That person or someone else then opened fire on the animals, killing 15 of them. The gruesome scene was discovered the night of April 27.  Another 18 cats and kittens survived and were rescued. They are currently receiving medical care and are in the process of getting spayed and neutered. Once the process is complete the surviving cats will be placed up for adoption at the shelter.
