Lord and Lady St Levan are looking for an enthusiastic, discreet and hands-on caretaker to join them (and their four children) in their medieval castle on the island of St Michael s Mount, just off the coast of Cornwall.
The role will see the castle s custodian undertaking a variety of tasks, from organising security for the castle and its contents and assisting the St Aubyn family in both the private and public areas of the castle, to performing maintenance tasks such as furniture moving and picture hanging, as well as promoting conservation.

As it is a tidal island, it is only connected to the mainland during low tide - at all other times it is only accessible by boat - making this job unappealing to those who get queasy at sea. Kate Cornwell, head of HR at St Aubyn Estates, explained: People who suffer from sea sickness need not apply - you ll need to love boats as it s the only way to get on and off the island at high tide.
