A GARDA has been accused of sexual assault, threatening to kill and coercive control of his ex in a “grand scheme” to control her life.
The officer, aged in his early 40s but who cannot be named, was arrested on Wednesday.

Following a lengthy bail hearing today, he has been held in custody until an €8,000 independent surety is approved by the district court.
It follows a probe by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation which was notified of complaints by the officer’s former partner.

A MUM-of-two accused of sharing the identity of a boy convicted of a teen girl’s murder has been sent forward for trial.
Hazel Fitzpatrick, 25, will go before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in July, it was ruled.

The boy and another youth also convicted of murder were juveniles and have the legal right to anonymity.
The murdered teenage girl cannot currently be named either.
Fitzpatrick, of Easton Green, Leixlip, Co Kildare, was served with a book of evidence at Dublin District Court earlier today.
Third man charged with murder of Michael Barr at Sunset House pub in Dublin four years ago

A THIRD man has been charged with the murder of Michael Barr who was shot at the Sunset House pub in Dublin four years ago.
Christopher Slater, 36, from Carnlough Road, Cabra, Dublin 7, was arrested on Monday and held at the Bridewell Garda station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
