Digging into the background of the persons involved in running a drug racket from jail, the special task force (STF) found that Jaspal Singh Goldy is a close aide of international drug syndicate kingpin Akshay Chhabra while Amandeep Jethi and his family members, including wife, sister, and sister’s fiancé, have been running the drug trade for years.
Three university students involved in a drug racket were granted bail after their interim bail plea was rejected by the court. The students were arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to colleges, PG accommodations, and hostels in Noida. The court noted that the quantity of drugs found on them was small. The students were suspended by Amity University pending an internal enquiry. Other suspects involved in the drug racket were also arrested and sent to jail.
