A man arrested in connection with the assault and false imprisonment of two men in north Louth has been released without charge.
The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were held against their will and assaulted by a group of men on Friday afternoon, shortly after arriving at a house in the Omeath area.
One of them managed to free himself and raise the alarm, while the second man was found in the Dromad area a short time later, close to Junction 20 on the N1.

A man in his 30s has been arrested by Gardaí investigating the alleged assault and false imprisonment of two men in north Louth.
It’s understood the pair -
aged in their 20s and 30s were
held against their will and assaulted by a group of men around 3pm yesterday shortly after arriving at a house in the Omeath area.
One of them managed to free himself and raise the alarm.
The second man was discovered a short time later in the Dromad area, close to Junction 20 on the N1.
LMFM By Ruth O Connell Previously hundreds of tyres were dumped on the opposite side of the dual carriageway.
Hundreds of used tyres have been dumped along the N1, near the Louth/Armagh border.
The car and lorry tyres were dropped in piles at the lay by on the northbound carriageway, just before Junction 20 - the Jonesborough/Carrickarnon exit.
This afternoon, the PSNI confirmed they had received a report about a trailer with around 1,000 used tyres on board in Newry had been stolen in the last number of weeks.
Previously hundreds of tyres were dumped at the former Dromad weighbridge on the other side of the dual carriageway (see photo below).

Pedigree Angus cattle proved to be in-demand last Saturday (December 12) as the Irish Angus Cattle Society hosted its annual ‘Elite Sale’ at the Showgrounds, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
There were a total of 57 Angus bulls and 34 Angus heifers on offer at the auction, with a fine display of Angus cattle all round. Under Covid-19 health and safety guidelines, the pre-sale viewing attracted great interest with potential buyers coming from a mix of pedigree, commercial beef and dairy herds.
In the male section, a total clearance rate of 80% was achieved alongside an average of €3,300. This saw a €400 rise from last year’s sale average for males which was €2,900.
