Squeeze in a read with Louth library services Reporter: 21 Feb 2021 The Tipperariana Book Fair would be delighted to accept books in good condition for their upcoming fair on Sunday, February 9, 2020. );   ); Squeeze in a read with Louth Library Service on February 25 and help to celebrate Ireland s first ever national reading day and reading campaign, Ireland Reads. The campaign encourages everyone young and old to squeeze in a read to help their mental well-being and to get back into the habit of reading. The campaign is running throughout February. A website is available at www.irelandreads.ie where visitors can pledge to read on Ireland Reads Day.

Louth people asked to squeeze in a read

Local children s author Emer Conlon is one of the Louth ambassadors for Ireland s first ever national reading day and reading campaign, Ireland Reads. Emer, who has penned the very popular Vroom-Town series of books, is backing the campaign which encourages everyone young and old to squeeze in a read to help their mental well-being and to get back into the habit of reading. Ireland Reads is a public libraries initiative, in partnership with publishers, booksellers, authors and others under the Government s Keep Well campaign. Louth Library Service is spearheading the campaign in Louth and have selected a number of local ambassadors to promote Ireland Reads taking place on Thursday February 25. Along with Emer, other local ambassadors include Marian Clarke and Drogheda Creative Writers, Jamie Staudt, Kevin Branigan, Nicola Pierce, Grace Tierney, Ruth Campbell, and Anthony Murphy.
