Jeannine's Restaurant and Bakery Closes Permanently in Downtown Santa Barbara | Business

Housing and Development Newsletter We are especially grateful to La Arcada for having provided such a beautiful home for all of us, Hardey said. This decision was one of the most difficult that we have had to face during these unprecedented times. Santa Barbara City Councilwoman Meagan Harmon, whose law office is across the street, used to eat the soup of the day with a side of cornbread, or sometimes the Cobb salad, on her lunch break at Jeannine s. The closure of Jeannine’s Figueroa Street location is a real loss for our downtown, Harmon said. In pre-COVID days, it was a regular hangout for me and for so many of us who live and work downtown a place where we were virtually guaranteed to run into at least one neighbor or colleague during every visit.

From Our Inbox: Letters to the Editor for the Week Ending Jan. 8, 2021

Housing and Development Newsletter As a now former supporter of President Donald Trump I was totally disgusted by the outrageous actions he took Jan. 6. Anyone with any common sense knows that when you call for thousands of your supporters to show up and protest something, it only takes a small number of hooligans to create a riot. That’s exactly what happened; of the tens of thousands of people who were there in Washington, D.C., probably less than 100 began storming the capitol building, smashing windows, assaulting an overwhelmed U.S Capitol Police and trying to take charge of congressional hearings.

Bill Macfadyen: Suspect, Motive So Far Prove Elusive in Deadly Shooting Near Goleta

| 8:30 a.m. Remember when we couldn’t wait for 2020 to end? Ah, the good old days, amirite? Last week I told you that this week I’d be sharing some of Noozhawk’s exciting plans for 2021. Well, I need to postpone that till next week as we’re awaiting an update from our Newspack partners on our transition to the WordPress.com and Google News Initiative universe. That timeline, which I expect will be completed in the first quarter, will determine the scheduling of several other projects we have in development. In the meantime, thank you again to our Hawks Club members who made such a huge difference with their financial commitments to Noozhawk last year, and for already getting this year off to such a strong start.
