Barn Burns at Historic Scamman Farm in Stratham Fire destroyed a barn at the historic Scamman Farm in Stratham on Monday night. Nearly two dozen fire companies responded to the three alarm blaze that engulfed the barn on Portsmouth Avenue (Route 108)  around 10:35 p.m. according to the Stratham Fire Department. Everyone is safe, our family is safe! Thank you to everyone for the kind words and most importantly Thank you to all of the fire fighters that put themselves on the line to keep everyone safe, the farm wrote on its Facebook page. Stratham Fire Chief Matt Larrabee said the third alarm was called to bring in tankers of water because there s no hydrants in the immediate area.
