NATIONSPORT understands that Cricket West Indies and Cricket Australia reached agreement over the end of the Tour after negotiations were held on Friday evening. The second ODI, which was abruptly suspended on Thursday because of a positive COVID-19 case in the West Indies camp, will be completed, after Australia won the toss and chose to bat. The third ODI, scheduled for Saturday at the same venue, will be played two days later. This followed confirmation from Minister of Health & Wellness Jeffrey Bostic that tests of more than 150 people conducted by the Best-Dos Santos Public Health Laboratory all came back negative.

Viral test backlog declared over – Bostic Article by February 18, 2021 The backlog of COVID-19 test results should have been cleared by Wednesday, according to Minister of Health and Wellness Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic. He gave an assurance that operations at the Best-Dos Santos Public Health Laboratory had returned to normal following the acquisition of a chemical reagent to speed up the process. Lt Col Bostic said it was imperative that test results be brought up to date to make an accurate assessment of positivity rates and the pervasiveness of COVID-19 in Barbados. He revealed that as of Sunday, 534 tests were performed which yielded 63 positive cases.

Bostic: Working to reverse community spread

Article by Social Share Health officials have taken control of a senior citizens’ home which has been designated as an isolation facility after 31 patients tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). This was among the issues addressed by Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic today while speaking during a live press conference on the management of COVID-19. Bostic said while there is community spread of COVID-19, it is not too late to reverse this trend. Prime Minister Mia Amor Motley, chairman of the Cabinet Sub-committee on COVID-19 Senator Dr Jerome Walcott, Infectious Disease Specialist and head of the Isolation Facilities, Dr Corey Forde and Senior Medical Officer of Health Dr Anton Best also participated in the press conference.
