Biggins had previously served two terms on the school committee, but chose not to run for reelection in 2019. He was then appointed in July 2020 to serve alternate Richard Phelps term, pending the municipal election, after Phelps resigned his position.
Mills received the fewest votes in the race, 318. A total of 364 blank votes were cast.
Biggins said there is a lot that needs to be done at the school district, including getting students back to class full time, and the building of a new elementary school.
Melissa Mauro-Small ran unopposed for the remaining one year on the alternate seat to which Biggins was appointed last year. Mauro-Small lost a reelection bid for the school committee in 2018 to Mills by 10 votes.
