UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State School of Hospitality Management in the College of Health and Human Development and the Penn State Hotel & Restaurant Society (PSHRS) have named Mit Shah, founder and chief executive officer of Noble Investment Group (Noble), as the 2023 Hospitality Executive of the Year.
The Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society (PSHRS) and Penn State School of Hospitality Management have opened nominations for its Annual Alumni Awards. An awards ceremony and reception for award recipients and the entire alumni and School community will be held in conjunction with the school’s 17th annual Alumni in the Classroom event in October 2022.
Penn State has named The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation its Foundation Partner of the Year for 2021 in celebration of the organization’s philanthropy to support facilities and programming in the University’s School of Hospitality Management.

Dave Montrose, senior vice president operations with White Lodging, a hotel ownership, development and management company, has joined the Penn State School of Hospitality Management (SHM) Industry Advisory Board.
“Throughout my career, I’ve found my proudest moments center around seeing the success and growth of our associates,” Montrose said. “For many of our managers, this success is predicated from the strong foundation they receive while earning their degrees. I’m honored to be selected to be on the advisory board that will help determine the growth and development of hospitality students at Penn State.”
Montrose has nearly 30 years of hospitality experience. Previously, he was the senior regional vice president of operations for White Lodging, where he was responsible for maximizing operational results for 50 select service assets.
