Last year, they got a little boost from the pandemic.
As people were encouraged to avoid personal contact and public places, digital communications allowed tire dealerships and auto repair shops to cater to customers who didn t want to walk into a business.
For shops who offered digital services, a customer could go online, set up an appointment and drop off the vehicle at the shop where a digital inspection is conducted.
While the customer is busy doing other activities, the shop can send the customer a text message with the estimate for services as well as a link to photos and videos of the inspection and the parts needing replacement. The customer can text back with questions or approval and then send an electronic payment all without face-to-face contact.
